 The chemical operations of the Snia Group, which are headed by Caffaro SpA, produce both basic and fine chemicals.
Caffaro SpA operates three factories located in Brescia, Torviscosa (Udine) and Colleferro (Rome).
The products manufactured by Caffaro share two distinctive characteristics: they are highly compatible with the environment and make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life.
Established in 1906 with the name “Società elettrica ed elettrochimica del Caffaro” for the purpose of producing caustic soda by electrolysis, over the years, driven by its ongoing commitment to research and product innovation, this company expanded into other important business segments, including agrochemicals, polymers and packaging films. In the 1990’s, Caffaro SpA launched and completed the conversion of its manufacturing operations from base chemicals to specialty and fine chemicals.
